During the Rescue Diver course in Boracay, you learn how to anticipate, recognize and prevent problems that occur before, during or after a scuba dive. The various rescue skills that you learn in the course prepare you to handle or assist in real emergency situations. This course can be completed in 3 to 4 days.
Upon completion, you earn the Rescue Diver certification, which qualifies you to continue your dive education to the Master Scuba Diver rating (if you have previously earned 5 Specialty Diver certifications such as Deep Diver and Enriched Air Nitrox Diver) or participate in the Divemaster course the first professional level in the system of diver education.
To participate in the Rescue Diver course, you must:
- Be at least 12 years old.
- Be a Open Water Diver or hold a qualifying certification from another agency.
- Be a Advanced Open Water Diver or hold a qualifying certification from another agency.
- Have proof of CPR training, such as Emergency First Response, within the past 24 months.
Note: Participants who are 12 to 14 years of age will receive the Junior Rescue Diver certification.
